ARTIST STATEMENT

It took me quite a while to share my practice and to confess myself an artist in general, because of how much reverence I have for that role. I believe being an artist goes way beyond purely self-expressing and extends to making marks of the lifetime we collectively bear witness to. My pursuit is to be a truth teller and proactive contributer to our day and age with what I make.

By intertwining multiple creative disciplines my work explores the parallel between the human experience and the natural world.  I have found the wisdom of natural processes and they’re metaphorical significance extremely helpful to navigate my existence and the complex emotional landscape that comes with.

It is grounding and hopeful to be aware of the fact, that we live within a greater ecosystem and are not as individual as we think in these digital days, where it is so easy to create entire worlds of our own. I long to illuminate nature’s inherent qualities of strength, gentleness, and transformative processes to then mirror them within us. The topics that fascinate me are relational, resilient and intimate.
